Bahera Chilka refers to the hard, fibrous outer shell of the Terminalia bellirica fruit, also called Baheda. The shells are brownish-grey, ridged, and roughly oval in shape.Native to South and Southeast Asia, the parent tree grows tall with thick, bluish-grey bark.Dried shells add texture and subtle earthy notes when ground into spice or herbal blends. They are one of the three fruits used in the traditional Triphala mix.
