Kachri Gol (also called wild melon, Cucumis pubescens) is a small, round fruit native to the arid regions of Rajasthan and Western India. The fruit resembles a miniature watermelon with green stripes and has a mildly tangy flavor. Kachri Gol is rich in dietary fiber, vitamin C, and essential minerals such as potassium and iron. It is commonly used as a vegetable, in pickles, chutneys, and as a natural meat tenderizer in Rajasthani cuisine. Dried Kachri or its powder is valued for both flavor and nutrition.
